An Account of a Morbid Concretion Discharged from the Rectum of the Human Female, and in Its Chemical Characters Closely Resembling Ambergris; with Historical Remarks

.INTESTINAL concretions have rarely fallen under the observation of medical practitioners. Cases, however, demonstrative of their existence, and accompanied by correct descriptions of their external characters, and of the phaenomena which signalized their presence in the intestinal tube, are scattered in the records of pathological research. To this number an account of the present specimen is added, with no higher pretensions than those of a simple contribution, which may serve, in some degree, to elucidate the yet obscure history of these singular productions.
